VOTS provides peer-based, non-clinical support, including:

• Peer support (one-on-one and group)

VOTS services are not medical or mental health treatment.

• VOTS does not provide diagnosis or therapy

• Peer support is not a substitute for licensed care

• Participation does not establish a clinical provider relationship

Users are encouraged to seek licensed medical or mental health care when appropriate.

4. Crisis and Emergency Situations

VOTS is not a 24/7 emergency service.

If you are in immediate danger or at risk of harming yourself or others:

• Call 911

• Contact the Veterans Crisis Line (988, press 1)

VOTS may take action to connect users to emergency services if a serious risk is identified.

5. User Responsibilities

By using VOTS services, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and honest information

• Engage respectfully with staff and other participants

• Use services for personal support purposes only

• Not misuse or disrupt services

6. Communication and Participation

Participation in VOTS services is voluntary.

• You may choose how much information to share

• You may stop participation at any time

• VOTS may limit or end participation if behavior is unsafe, abusive, or disruptive

7. Confidentiality

VOTS respects user confidentiality but cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality.

Information may be shared when:

• There is risk of harm to yourself or others

• Required by law

• Needed to coordinate safety or care services

8. Use of Technology

VOTS services may be delivered through online platforms.
